The track laying was completed for the logging branch in the Rock Ridge neighborhood. I have not yet worked on the logging siding, which will take some subroadbed work still. Entering the logging yard would be a perfect place for a curved switch, but I made do with what I had for now, at least. No wiring for this block yet, so I had to test it with jumpers. It’s quite steep, so if the Shays can’t handle it with a decent load, they can always go the long way around and will only have to deal with the steep hill going down. It was nice to be able to design it with that option because otherwise, some equipment might not be able to operate in that area and that could be disappointing from an operations standpoint. So far, so good.
The railroad has officially been renamed the Willoughby & Rock Ridge after its major points of operation.
